Evelyn Dawn Wasson

Evelyn Dawn Wasson, 90, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Abilene. Graveside services will be 11:00a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Elmwood Memorial Park, with O.W. Wilson officiating under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Evelyn was born on December 15, 1922 in Belton, Texas to Fred and Gladys Land Mosshart.

Evelyn was a kind and giving spirit. She enjoyed cooking for her family, china painting, attending her grandchildren’s activities, and was very active in her church teaching Sunday School. Evelyn was also the president of the Missionary Society.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill T. Wasson; and two brothers, Fred H. Mosshart and Bobby Neal Mosshart.

Survivors include her son, Richard Wasson of Abilene; her daughter, Georgene Zinn and husband, Joel of Broken Arrow, OK; her sister, Jean King of Abilene; grandchildren, Kyle Wasson, Jacob Zinn, and Jillian Zinn; and great-grandchildren, Gracie Wasson and Kash Wasson.
