

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, with Loyd Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
George was born October 21, 1940 to Nellie (Sanders) and Brantley C. Bryan in Abilene, Texas. He served his country in the United States Navy. George attended the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was employed by the Bible Chapel in Abilene and the Baird Church of God in Baird, Texas. George also was a pastor for Calvary Assembly in Abilene. He loved the Lord and being a preacher of the Gospel. George enjoyed photography as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Dean Still.
Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Thurman and husband, Loyd, of Mineral Wells, Texas and Lea-Dee Guerra and husband, Phillip, of Abilene; a brother, Kenneth Bryan of Abilene; a sister, Christine Montell of Weatherford, Texas; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Amber, Daniel, Coltin, and Shane.
Serving as pallbearers are Chris Thurman, Coltin Guerra, Jim Brown, Phillip Guerra, Weston Brown, and Kenneth Bryan.
