Jackie Pat Carriker

Celebration of his life services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2 PM at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Reid officiating. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.

Chappy was born on February 17, 1950 in Rotan, Texas to William Doug and Margie (Maynard) Carriker. He married Saundra Louise Lambert in October 1974, and they spent 46 years together in life, love, laughter, and family.

He lived life to the fullest and helped as many people as he could along the way. Pat always made you feel welcome regardless of who you were or where you came from.

He was a man of many talents and accomplishments; Running Back for the Trent Gorillas Championship team of 1969, member of the Cisco Jr. College Rodeo Team, PRCA member and a top Rodeo Cowboy in the State of Texas, service in the Texas Army National Guard, farmer, cattleman, roughneck, song writer, drummer in the band Muddy Creek, foster parent and house parent at the Hendrick Home for Children, Campus Director at the Ben Richey Boys Ranch, Cooper Cougars Booster Club President, avid golfer, and pool shark to name a few.

Preceding him in death were his parents, William and Margie Carriker, his brother, Mike Carriker, and nephew Max Carriker.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Saundra Carriker; two sons, Jet Carriker and wife, Stephanie, and Janson Carriker; two grandchildren that he was crazy about, Jeaux and Reagan Carriker; sister-in-law, Reva Carriker; nephews, Dock and wife, Brenda, and their children and Corey Carriker; and several extended family and friends; in addition, those whose lives were touched during his time at Ben Richey Boys Ranch and Hendrick Home for Children.

His loyalty and love will be missed. Chappy would want you to love your family, help people, work hard, and be safe out there. He will be missed by so many and his legacy will live on by those who loved him the most.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ben Richey Boys Ranch.
