James Miller Gemberling

James M. Gemberling, 75, went home to meet his Lord and Savior on April 19, 2011 at after a short illness. Memorial services will be 11:00am on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd St. Inurnment will be at 1:00p.m. in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

He was born in Selinsgrove, PA in 1936 to Charles S. and Helen Miller Gemberling. In 1954 he married Ann-a-Vonne Whiteleather and they were married 56 1/2 years. James was a 27 year U.S.A.F. retired Master Sergeant who spent duty assignments around the world. He spent several tours in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Ann-a-Vonne of Abilene; three sons, James G. Gemberling and wife Mary of Abilene, Charles Curtis Gemberling and wife Kathy of Flower Mound, TX and Jeff S. Gemberling of Abilene; five grandchildren, James Jay, Christopher, Eric, Sarah and Samuel; one great-granddaughter, Shaela Brooke Gemberling; two sisters, Gladys Lefebvre of Enfield, Connecticut and Patricia Miller of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; a brother, Charles S. Gemberling and wife Linda of Lewistown R.D., Pennsylvania; two nieces; and three nephews.
