

James Robert "Bob" Rohr, 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in a local medical center. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Rd., Abilene, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Bob was born November 15, 1936 in Stanton, Virginia, the son of Harry S. and Levie (Multex) Rohr. Bob married Dovie Fay Summerfield on December 31, 1987 in Elkton, Maryland. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 30 years, full-time in the National Guard 1980-1996 in New Jersey. He came to Tye from New Jersey following his retirement in 1996. He served in the local Veterans Honor Guard for 13 years. Bob was a member of the American Legion, Life member of DAV and Non-commissioned Officers of America (NCOA) and was a Baptist.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Harry Rohr Jr. Survivors include his wife, Fay Rohr of Tye, TX; son, Brian Keith Bolyard and wife Jennifer of Oak Grove, LA; four daughters, Joyce Pope of Tye, Sandy Rozsel and husband Scott of Tye, Cathy Blackwell and husband Billy of Oak Grove, LA and Leslie Rohr of Stanton, VA; eight grandchildren, Christina, Crystal, Sara, Stephen, Tiffanie, Coleen, Sabrina and Thomas; and ten great-grandchildren, Brandon, Nicholas, Crystal, Ryan, Breona, Austin, Casey, Railee, Cyrah, and Caden.
