Jesse M. Hicks, age 76, passed away October 10, 2015 following a sudden illness. Jesse was born in Leuders, Texas. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. In 1975, Jesse started Wes-Tex Drywall and was well known in the construction business for the great pride he took in hanging sheetrock.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Allie and Ruby Mae (Shannon) Hicks. Survivors include his beloved wife of 49 years, Betty Hicks; son and daughter-in-law, Devin and Tommie Hicks; daughter and son-in-law, Genea and Tommy Neble; grandchildren, Gavin, Anthony, Cody, Jody and Jesse; sisters, Nancy Reed, Carol Spalding and Leona Drath; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 6pm to 8pm at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home with burial following at Elmwood Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and Merl Sanders.
