Jimmy R. McCartney, 70, of Tye, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, in Round Rock, TX. Graveside services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, in Tye Cemetery, Tye, TX, with Reverend Jack Meeks officiating, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jimmy was born October 1, 1942 to Billy Brazier McCartney and Gladys A. Burns McCartney in Merkel, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his former wife, Gwenda McCartney; son, Chris McCartney; a brother, Eddy McCartney; and grandchildren, Dakota Brazier McCartney, Cutter Wyatt McCartney, Kaden James McCartney, Connor Grant McCartney; niece, Angela McCartney; and nephew, Timothy McCartney.
