

Joaquin Villalobos, 89, passed away at home on June 22, 2014. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 from 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. with Rosary starting at 6:00p.m. Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 with burial following in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene.
Joaquin was born in Bastrop County, Texas near the town of Elgin on March 18, 1925.
Joaquin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all. He instilled in his children the importance of honesty, loyalty to family, and hard work.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Carmen Villalobos; his son, Oscar Villalobos; two sisters; and four brothers.
He leaves loving memories to be cherished by his wife, Maria Villalobos; sons, Cruz and Javier; daughters, Frances and Lupe; step-children, Rene, Armando, Hilda, Lynda, Raul, Greg, and Noemi. He will also be missed by two brothers and two sisters; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and 16 step-grandchildren.
