John was born on June 16, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was one of three sons born to the late James Fredrick Primm and Anna Bernice (Hansen) Primm. He married the love of his life Donna Clark in 1996 in Phoenix, Arizona. They moved to Abilene in 2006.
John enjoyed Horseback riding, loved watching football and had several special teams.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Donna Primm; children, Danelle Ward, Bradley Herring, Michelle Zimmerman and Devin Martin; two brothers, Paul and Kimm Primm; numerous grandchildren; and his cherished dog, Jasper.
