Katherine Ann McKenna

Katherine Ann McKenna, 75, of Hawley, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Arrangements were entrusted to Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., and the family will plan a private memorial service at a later date.

Katherine was born to the late John and Margaret Krieger on April 26, 1939 in Portland, Oregon. She married Robert L. McKenna on April 24, 1959. After her husband retired from the U.S. Navy in 1978 they moved to Abilene. In June of 1980, she went to work for First Financial Bank and retired in January 2001.

Katherine was a wonderful woman that will be greatly missed by many. Anyone who knew her knew her love for the country, her animals, her crafts, and especially her family. May she rest in peace and forever know how much she was loved.

Survivors include her husband, Robert L. McKenna of Hawley; two sons, Robert D. McKenna of Hawley, and Mark McKenna and wife, Karen of Abilene; granddaughter, Kimberly Daniels of Abilene; grandson, Michael McKenna of Abilene; two great-grandsons, Bryson and Dillon Evans of Abilene; and three brothers, Dennis, David, and Richard Krieger all of Portland, Oregon.
