Maria Del Socorro Prado

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Maxim Fernandes officiating. Burial will follow in Abilene City Cemetery, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene. A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Maria was born May 25, 1939 to Josephine (Martinez) and Hipolito Prado in Brackettville, Texas. She was a homemaker; a Catholic; and a Cursillista.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Virginia Shirley; and two brothers, Felix Prado and Jose Prado.

Survivors include a sister, Pauline P. Gutierrez of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, David Prado of Grand Prairie, Texas; and lots of nieces and nephews.
