

Mary Lou Duggins, 80, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at her residence in Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at Grace Baptist Church in Potosi with Chuck Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born September 17, 1931 in Hulen, Oklahoma, Mary Lou grew up in Walters and Lawton, Oklahoma. She married Emmitt Ray Duggins in 1973 in Oklahoma City, OK. She retired from Oklahoma Telephone Association in 1993 and moved to Abilene from Oklahoma in 1994.
Mary Lou was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was active as a cook with the church as well as being a social director and charter member of the church. Mary Lou loved playing games and cooking.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Emmit Ray Duggins; her parents, F.P. and Elizabeth Alberta (Ray) Allen; a brother, H.W. Allen; and a sister, Loretta Wilson.
Survivors include her sons, Billy Breed and wife, Elanna of Fort Worth and Gary Breed and wife, Marlene of Abilene; a brother, W. P. Dick Allen; a sister, Louise Palmer; five grandchildren, Aaron Breed, Tony Breed and wife, Emily, Lori Brewer and husband, Jason, Becky Breed and Jenny Breed; four great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brandon and Ryan Breed, and Merrik Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
