Patricia Nell Howard

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Hwy. 277 S. in Abilene with Pastor Joe Grizzle, officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM also at the funeral home.

Patricia was born on March 19, 1950, in El Cerrito, California to the late Paul T. Kidwell and Louise Julia (Dolan) Kidwell . She grew up in El Cerrito and graduated from El Cerrito High School. She moved with her parents to Abilene, where she eventually began a family. She welcomed her first son, David. She relocated to San Angelo and welcomed two more sons, John Paul and Michael. For many years Patricia worked as a Bookkeeper for San Angelo Lumber. In her retirement to keep busy and enjoy kids she became a school crossing guard.

She married the love of her life MSgt. Billy R. Howard, USAF(Ret.) on September 6, 1991. Together they enjoyed many years of marriage and made many special memories. She enjoyed doing 3D puzzles. She also enjoyed playing computer games, virtual reality, strategy, and anything that kept her occupied.

She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Gertrude Kidwell and stepson, Ronald Howard.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Howard; sons, David A. Gideon; John Paul Rangel and Lt. Michael C. Rangel; stepdaughter, Daphine Evans; grandchildren, Taylor Elkins, Zack Barger, Alex Howard, Tamra Smith, Noah Gideon, Tanner Gideon, Christopher, Jayden and Kayleah Rangel.
