

A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM in her hometown at the Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery, with Don Longoria officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Highway 277 S. in Abilene.
Patsy June was born on February 19, 1946 in Abilene, Texas. She was the youngest of eight children born to the late George Washington Keesee and Dolly Oriole (Willingham) Keesee. She was raised with her siblings on the family farm in the Fort Phantom/Nugent Community. The seeds of faith were planted in her life growing up with her family attending Nugent Methodist Church. As time went on, she nurtured them and planted those same seeds into her children. She attended school at Lueders, where she was very involved from all-star basketball player to twirler. After graduating in 1964, she married her high school sweetheart Wayne Winston Fuqua. They started a family that eventually consisted of three children. She followed his career to Saudi Arabia and Libya. The family eventually settled in Arlington. Pasty worked as an administrator for Moore North America for many years. She loved being Grandmama to her grandchildren as life went on. She enjoyed gardening and having a good time. She was always the center of attention and life of the party. She enjoyed creating memories with her family. Simple pleasures like sitting and watching her beloved Cowboys, Chiefs, and Rangers brought her joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mack Arthur Keesee, Ann Tajchman, Dolly Joyce Dodgen, and George Wayne Keesee.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years Wayne Winston Fuqua, Sr.; her children Wayne Winston Fuqua, Jr., Natalie Duhon and her husband Brent, and Brett Fuqua; cherished siblings Emma Lee Middleton, Maudine Gilbreath, and Bobby Joe Keesee; her grandchildren Collin Mojica, Brittney Duhon, and Bryce Duhon; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; and special friends.
