Patsy Reese

Visitation will be held from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, August 20,2020 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, TX.

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Elmwood Memorial Park with Steve Ridgell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Elliott Hamil Funeral Home.

Patsy was born October 10, 1928 in Brownwood, Texas to Matthew R. and Julia C. (Gunter) Moore. She was a graduate of Brownwood High School and attended Tarleton College for two years. She married Conway B. Reese, Jr. on December 25, 1946 in San Angelo, and then they moved to Abilene to make their permanent home in 1958.

Patsy was a hard worker, both inside the home and out, and retired at the age of 82. She had spent years as a bookkeeper, having worked for Advanced Home Health Care, Pyramid Drilling, Terry’s Auto Supply and DB Drilling. She also loved to go fishing and loved to paint in her spare time. She was also an excellent cook, cooking until just a short time before her passing.

Above all else, Patsy was a wonderful Christian mother, and was a longtime member of Woodlawn Church of Christ.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Conway B. Reese, Jr., and brother Vannoy G. Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Charles Alan Reese and wife Caren of Abilene, and Robert Dean Reese and wife Jen of Abilene; two granddaughters, Jennifer Renee Ayers and husband Shaun, and Melinda Kay Bergeron and husband Chris; grandson Ryan David Reese; three great-grandchildren, Shelby Ayers, Carson Bergeron and Madee Bergeron; and several extended family and friends.
