

Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, with Pastor David Cason officiating. Burial will follow in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation Tuesday 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bob was born October 20, 1939 to Pearl Degeer Hayward and Leroy Hayward in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. He proudly served his country as a Loadmaster in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. After his service in the Air Force, he worked for R & R Electronics and E.A. Fretz Beauty Supply. He opened the first Armstrong-McCall Beauty Supply in Abilene in 1970. Bob loved to farm and ranch in his free time. He was retired; he was a Baptist and loved woodworking, golf, and fishing.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents; three brothers, Chuck, John, and Danny Hayward and two sisters, Liz Grinzinger and Ellen Natzel, all of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
Survivors include a son, Russell (Russ) Hayward and wife, Carol, of Abilene; a daughter, Rhonda Hayward Bahlman and husband, Chris, of Winters; grandchildren, Kyle Hayward of Abilene, Christa and Chaney Bahlman of Winters; Brian Willcockson and wife, Lori, of Abilene; Jenifer Willcockson Sullivan and husband, Richard, of Woodson, Texas; one great-grandchild, Alannah Sullivan of Woodson; and one brother, Leroy Hayward and wife, Betty, of Caro, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested that a donation be made to the Abilene Meals-on-Wheels Plus, Inc., P.O. Box 903, Abilene, Texas 79604.
