

He will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Hawley Cemetery with the Casey family plot at 1:00 PM with Pastor Avery Barney officiating.
Ronnie was born on August 16, 1955, in Odessa, Texas. His parents were the late Earnest Edwin Houghton and Doris Kaye (Jackson) Houghton. He grew up in Odessa where he was raised in a close-knit family. His grandfather, the late John Hyden, uncle and aunt, Donny and Ann Casey were instrumental in his upbringing and often served as second parents. Ronnie attended Odessa High School and went on to serve in the Navy. He married Julie and from this union he gained a son and together they had two children. Ronnie worked several jobs including the City of Abilene and City of Frisco.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles, car shows and fishing. In later years he settled in Ranger. Life took Ronnie down many roads and on many adventures, he has now finished his earthly journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandfather, John Cornelious Hyden, stepson, Joey Spolnick; a special uncle Donny Casey.
He is survived by his son, Cory Shane Houghton; daughter Mollie Marie Houghton, R.T. Houghton, and Elizabeth Houghton; a host of grandchildren; aunt, Ann Casey; cousins, Benny Emerson, John Ray Casey, and Cindy Wood; his adopted brother, Andy Carrasco; several friends.
