Rosemary was born on April 17, 1956, in Huntingdon, England to the late Albert Henry Drawwater and Jean (Lancaster) Drawwater. She eventually moved to Woodwalton where she spent a lot of time. Her early years in life helped to build resilience and sense of compassion for others. She met a young airman Samuel Dixon while he was stationed in England at Alconbury Air Force Base. Rosemary’s pretty legs caught his attention as Samuel would recall. They married on July 18, 1975, in Huntington England. Their's was a love story for the books. Even after his passing her devotion and love for Sam never vanished. She even thought of Sam’s family as her own. Rosemary and Sam had three children who they loved, nurtured, and instilled solid values. Rosemary began her Christian journey when the family met Bro. Ross Wissman. The family eventually joined the congregation of the Church of Christ in Mildenhall England.
Once married Rosemary was an integral part of Sam’s military career. She was a dedicated homemaker maintaining things during Sam’ s deployments. Once Rosemary set her mind on something that was the way it was. She was solid in her inner convictions. She raised her children to be independent thinkers and to never fit in any mold given to them. The Dixon’s retired from military life in Minot, ND where they spent many years. Eventually Rosemary and Sam relocated to Abilene to be near their daughter Sharleene and the grandchildren. Rosemary’s heart only grew as she welcomed her grandchildren, being Nanny was a prized role for her. Rosemary accomplished much in her life often behind the scenes. Never being one to draw a lot of attention she helped many far and wide out of a genuine concern for others. She did not seek applause or recognition her main objective was that people were taken care of. She leaves to cherish precious memories and a legacy of making a difference in the lives of many and even changing the lives of some. Though separated by miles and years she always maintained a special connection with her family back home.
