Stella Martina Reed

Stella Looper Reed, 84, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at a local nursing center. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, with Larry Millican officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be; Larry Reed, Brian Runnels, Richard Reed, Justin Reed, Joey Reed, and David Reed.

Stella was born May 1, 1927 to Dovie Ann Cheatwood and John William Looper in Prague, Oklahoma. She was a, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was a long time resident of Abilene, Texas. Stella worked as a Nurse's Assistant and she was a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Wayne Reed; a son Henry Reed; a daughter Pauletta Elrod; five brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Reed and wife, Pat of Haskell and Richard Reed and wife, Diana of Abilene; two daughters, Shirley Garrett and husband, Jim of Chandler, TX, and Dorothy Bowen of Clyde. 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
