

Thomas, affectionately known as “Mike”, was born on May 15, 1951 to the late Thomas and Mary (McMinn) Summers in Abilene. He was raised with his two older sisters in a loving home. Mike attended Cooper High School. He began his working career with his father's construction business Ash & Summers Construction. For a period, he owned his own construction company. He went on to work for several companies to include Hendricks Hospital and lastly Hendrick Electric. When not working, Mike enjoyed having a good time and entertaining others with his amazing sense of humor. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a proud member of the Booze Fighters Motorcycle Club, “a drinking group with a motorcycle problem” he liked to joke. Mike will be remembered for his love of family, making special and unique memories with his sons and nephews. When they were all together trouble was sure to follow. He loved fishing and enjoying the simple pleasures life had to offer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents; and his nephew, Michael Edward Morgan.
He is survived by his three sons, Christopher Summers and his wife Stephane, Marshall Summers and Timothy Summers; two sisters, Shirley Simpson and her husband Larry, and Linda Summers; grandchildren, James, Norma-Jean, Daylen, and Joel; four nephews; an uncle, Joe Harbert; a host of great-nieces, and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many special friends.
The family will gather at a later date to celebrate his life privately.
