

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, with Pastor Mark Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Tommy was born October 6, 1964 in Abilene. He attended Jackson, Madison, and Cooper High School where he excelled in the athletic programs of football and baseball. As Tommy pursued his life in Abilene, he continued to follow his passions for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Nascar and motocross. Tommy's generous, caring heart was evident to co-workers, friends and family as he sacrificed his own needs in order to care for others.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Reggie Tarr.
Survivors include his parents, Andy and Dee Tarr of Abilene; fiancée, Amy Robertson of Saginaw; son, Taylor Tarr of Waco from Tommy's first marriage to Susan Fisher of Abilene; sisters, Tandy Turpin of Edmond, Oklahoma and Crystal Clary of Abilene; sister-in-law, Cecelia Tarr of Winters, Texas; Amy's daughters, Kiley Robertson of Abilene and Shannon and husband, Matt Cumby, and sons, Cason and Kaden of Abilene; and beloved white Labrador, Lexie. Tommy was also blessed and privileged to touch the lives of Chris Heck, Cole Heck, Jeff Tarr and his wife, Sherri, and daughter Megan, Josh Tarr, Ethan Turpin, Colin Turpin, Brandon Clary, and Emily Clary.
The family wishes to thank the nurses of John Peter Smith Hospital, 7th Floor Oncology, and Dr. Lingum and Dr. Menzies for their excellent care of Tommy.
