Wanda Faye Giles

Wanda Russell Giles, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd St., Abilene, TX with Cliff Stewart and Janet Six officiating under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home.

Wanda was born on January 18, 1923 in Wichita Falls, TX to Tip and Faye Russell. She married Max Giles on December 28, 1944 in Santa Barbara, CA and they were married for 68 years. Wanda had also worked for FEMA for 15 years, and she and Max loved traveling with their friends.

Wanda was a member of First Central Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Max Giles of Abilene; her son, Tip Giles and wife, Joy of Austin; her daughters, Gayle Waldrum and husband, Jim of Arlington, Cynthia Waldrum and husband, Wayne of Abilene, and Angela Rice and husband, Joe of Monticello, Indiana; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Presbyterian Medical Care Mission.
