Barbara Anne Funk (née Ware) passed quietly at home with family by her side, on Wednesday April 29, 2026, at the age of 83, born May 14, 1942. Barbara was the beloved and devoted wife of James Funk for 61 years. Cherished mother of Wendy Funk-Death and her husband Ken, Jeremy Funk and his wife Amaris. Barbara will be missed by her siblings George Ware, James Ware (Barbara), and by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Barbara Ware.
During her working years Barbara was a registered nurse, later working for the University of Guelph. She was an avid reader and loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will take place at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON L7J1H4, on Tuesday May 5, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Celebration of life service will be held at Mackinnon Family Funeral Home on Wednesday May 6, at 11:00 am.
As expressions of sympathy donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Doctors Without Borders, or the War Amps, would be appreciated by the family.
