Bruce Bonnar

With great sadness we announce the passing of Robert “Bruce” Bonnar on June 28, 2026, aged 72 at Georgetown Hospital. Predeceased by his proud parents Robert and Edith Bonnar. Loving husband to Shelley Eitel, dear brother of Judy Woodley (Bill) beloved father to Lisa Wagg (Neil), loyal step father to Jessica Rea (Michael), Alexander Rea (Dana), cherished grandfather to Kristen, Georgia , Alemiyu, Addisalem, Gavin & Ethan. Bruce Will be missed by brother-in-law Michael Turner (Carla), numerous friends, nieces nephews, friends and neighbors.

Born in Ottawa Bruce lived most of his adult life in the Toronto area. He had a 40 year career as a financial planner. His passion was downhill skiing and he tackled the hills in Ottawa, Gatineau, and Quebec as well as the French Alps. He was an avid water skier at Norway Bay, and his cottage at Round Lake, Havelock.

Bruce was a devoted husband and then caregiver to his first wife Dale, who sadly passed after 38 years of marriage, after a long illness.

Years later Bruce & Shelley started a new chapter, sharing a love of travel and a joie de vivre. Family always came first and his many friends knew him as the salt of the earth.

The family invites friends and family to celebrate the life of Bruce on Friday July 10th at 1:00 PM at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E Acton, ON.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Scott Mission would be greatly appreciated by the family.
