Dorothy Jean Mills peacefully passed on October 24, 2026, at the Bennett Health Care Centre in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Orval Robert Darby (1970) and the late Donald Roy Mills (2007). Cherished and loved mother of Donna Porty (Keith), Doug Darby (Sharon), and step mother of Jacky Gould (Kenneth), and Raymond Mills. Dear grandmother of Wayne Porty (Sharon), Michael Darby (Christy), Ryan Darby (Alecia), Nathan McNabb (Julia), Michael McNabb (Brigid), Shane Gould (Linda), Adam Gould (Belinda), and great grandma to 16. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
Dorothy found great joy in creating a warm and welcoming home, sharing her love through home baking and her many talents in knitting, quilting and crocheting. She also cherished time spent in her garden, where she found beauty and happiness nurturing the things she loved.
Visitation will be held at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON L7J1H4 on Thursday October 29, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Reception will be held at the funeral home prior to a private family interment at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Bennett Health Care Centre, Georgetown would be appreciated by the family.
