Fryderyk Rittaler

It is with deep sadness that the family of Fryderyk Rittaler announces his peaceful passing on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the age of 90, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, with his daughters by his side.

Born in Poland on February 17, 1935, Fryderyk was the beloved son of Franciszek and Karolina Rittaler and the youngest brother to Luisa, Mieczysław, and Stanisława.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Krystyna, daughters Wioletta Burkacki (Zbigniew) and Barbara Rankin (Sean), his granddaughters Kathy and Sylvia, his great granddaughter Penny, his niece and nephew Michelle and Paul, and his nephew Ken, wife Hedy and their son Michael.

Fryderyk retired from Orion Bus Industries and spent his later years enjoying the outdoors. He had a deep love of nature, especially foraging for berries and mushrooms in the forest.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He will be dearly missed.

A visitation for Fryderyk will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON L7J 1H4, followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery after the service.
