We were sorry to hear of Harold's passing. We both have known him for many years through his work in hockey. Gail and myself spent many great times in the booster clubs in the Erin and Fergus arenas. He was a real gentleman and sure loved his hockey. We will miss him.

Your father meant a great deal to me!  He has touched and influenced the lives of so many people, far more than you could ever know.  SONNY (Jr.) inspired me to be a better hockey & ball player, a better coach, a better husband by watching how he loved your mother so much, AND A BETTER PERSON.  He teased me, goaded me, drove me, unrelentlessly to achieve far more than I saw in myself.  From the time I was stick boy for the Acton Juniors when Harold was playing with Freddie Kentner, Paul Lawson, Ted Footitt, Wayne Arbic, Jackie Marshall, John Cunningham & more, to modern time and looking forward to his inspirational and supportive discussions when we would meet once a year in front of MacKinnon's Funeral Home to help judge the Acton Santa Claus parade. Your father was someone I always respected and will always look up to.  It was this year's Santa Clause Parade when the judge's gathered, that we learned your dad had gone into the hospital and we all missed his very unique way of judging the floats. Each future Santa's parade we will toast your dad with a gin & orange.  I imagine he left us because there was a hockey game starting in heaven with so many of the players that have gone before him. I sense a movie sequel, Let's Call it "The Rink of Dreams". Harold, save the stick boy's position for me, but you'll have to get along without me for a while yet,,I hope.  Beside's yourselves, not too many people from Acton have been so fortunate to have two Sonny's in their life.  The original, your grandfather that helped me as the first coach of the Acton Sabres and his help with The Acton Midgets, and sharing his "flask" to "SONNY 2" your Dad, who I could always look to for help. I will think of them often and miss them alot. You have so many memories, enough to put a smile a day on your face for the rest of your lives.

our deepest sympathy to the Townsley family members with the passing of Harold. We have great memories going back to the 40's when the senior Townsley family moved to Acton. Despite the mileage barrier between our addresses, we managed to keep in touch over the years with visits whenever possible. Rest easy friend.
