During this difficult time I would like to extend my most heartfelt sympathies. 
I enjoyed knowing John for the years I worked with him in his recovery from his injuries.
He was a wonderful man with a heart of gold. 
Rest in peace John. Be proud of your son Matthew! He is a fine young man.

We were hoping to come by this afternoon to pay our respects, but unfortunately were not able to make it.  The kids and I met John about 5 years ago and he became an instant friend.  He would make regular walks to our house to say hi and "check in" on the kids.  He made us all smile. Over the years, whenever we saw him around town, we would be greeted with a hug and a huge smile. John was always, as he put it, "taking er easy".  He was a happy, caring person and we will miss seeing him out on his walks and our little chats we had when we met up. Our condolences to the whole family, our thoughts are with you all.

We were terribly saddened to hear of John's unexpected passing. We will remember John with fondness throughout the years as a school mate & neighbour. Very sad to hear of John's passing. We were in the Total Immersion course together in 1979 and I have many fond memories of him and his giant smile. To his family, so very sorry for your loss.

So sad to hear of Johns passing. I saw and talked to John on a almost daily basis. It was Johns routine to have coffee about 5:30am every morning at Acton Discount with Louise Townsley. He love to tease me and I am going to miss that very much. He was a wonderful giving person and we are so sorry for your loss. Acton wont be the same.

I just heard about John's passing, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.  My son played hockey with Matthew, and John was always around with a smile and kind words.  I'll miss seeing him around town.  I'm very sorry for you loss

Although it has been many years since I moved away from Acton, I fondly remember John as a young boy at Robert Little School and his fun-loving good nature.  My brother Murray and sister Merle were very good friends with John and were classmates throughout the school years and into adulthood.

 Thanks to Clark Somerville, I heard the news yesterday of John's passing. Many years ago he was in my Science class at Acton HS. He had such a dry sense of humour and nothing seemed to phase him. Over the years when I met him, he was an amazing gentleman and always willing to chat. Seems to me that Acton has lost a man who was in touch with so many others. A man to remember.  Dave J.

So sad to hear about John, and his family is in my prayers. My memories of John are always about what a pure and good heart he was. And the memories go back to Robert Little school and growing up around the corner from John. In later years I always enjoyed running into him on a downtown street, just like old times. The world has lost some warmth with John's passing.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I was a young teacher at Robert Little School when I first met John. He was in grade 6 and I was his teacher. It was a great class of kids. I remember John's sense of humour, his caring nature and his ability to get along with others.

So shocked and saddened to hear about John.  We go way back to when we attended Robert Little School together and in the same class and then again at Acton High.  I worked at Tim Hortons and saw him often there. Gone much too early.  R.I. P. my friend.

So sorry to hear about John. I never new him until he started riding the seniors shopping bus when I drove them to Sobeys. He will be missed on the bus.
