Ledia “Lee” Braida (née Chiavatti), passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on August 18, 1938, Lee was the beloved wife of the late Leno Braida, whom she married in February 1958. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and devotion until his passing in 2019.
Lee was a cherished mother to Michele Braida and a proud and loving grandmother to Ryan and Andrew Ferizovic. Her love further embraced her Son in Law, Ken Ferizovic and Ryan’s wife, Carly Ferizovic.
She was the dear sister of Frances Lenhardt, Tina Durigon, Gloria Collins, and Joseph Chiavatti, all of whom had predeceased her. Lee is survived by her brother Paul Chiavatti who, along with many extended family and friends, will deeply miss her presence.
Lee’s grace and elegance were reflected in every aspect of her life. A graduate of the Walter Thornton School of Modelling, she had an innate sense of style that remained with her throughout her years. Her love for cooking led her to earn a Chef’s Certificate from George Brown College, and her culinary talents brought warmth and joy to countless gatherings.
Beyond the kitchen, Lee found joy in her creative hobbies, crocheting beautiful pieces and breathing new life into old furniture through refinishing. Her hands were rarely still, always creating, always giving.
Lee’s legacy is one of strength, beauty, and quiet generosity. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and the many lives she touched with her kindness, talent, and unyielding love.
A memorial visitation will be held in her honour on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Mackinnon Family Funeral Home 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON L7J 1H4. A memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association in Lee’s memory.
