Also predeceased by in-laws Frances, Gladys, Stella, Edward and Martha, Leonard, and niece Carol. Survived by in-laws Joe and Helen, Ellen, Ted and Shirley. Dear partner of Brian Knott. Marie will be deeply missed by her children Peter (Lynn), Julie (Don), Linda (Wade), and Stephen. Loving “Nana” to Katie (Bobby), Heather (Matt), Mark (Megan), Peter (Michaela), Lindsay (Dave), Lisa (Cody), Julia (Drij), Laura (Kyle), Kevin, Emily (Mike), and Alexis (Andrew). Wonderful great-grandmother to Jackson, Ava, Colby, Reed, and Noah.
Marie was born and raised in Georgetown. When she married John, they made Acton their home. A constant and passion in her life was music. Singing in choirs from a young age Marie was a member of the choral society, a children’s choir director, member of various church choirs, and sang in many weddings and funerals. Her beautiful voice will be missed by many. Marie shared her love of horticulture and baking with her children who will carry on tending gardens and making favourite family recipes. If there was music playing, Marie would light up the dance floor. She enjoyed many parties with family and friends, including the “4th line gang”. Marie enjoyed travel with friends and family to many places around the world. She often said she’d been fortunate to have travelled everywhere she wanted to go and takes all our love with her on this final journey.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Oakville Hospital and Georgetown Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Special thanks also to friends and family for their calls and visits.
