I would like to you to read some questions that were put to the Greek sage of Miletus and how Miletus replied to these questions:  My reasoning is - because it has everything to do with this reality of our dear Mark's crossing-over; ...and everything to do with staying behind.  We all know that there is not one of us who "gets to stay", regardless how much we love this planet nor how great our attachments to our loved ones. 

The questions and answers lived as follows:  

1. What is the oldest of all things?
God - because God has always existed;

2.  What is the most beautiful of all things?
The Universe - because it is the work of God

3.  What is the greatest if all things?
Space - because it holds all that has been created. 

4.  What is the most constant of all things?
Hope - because it still remains with man, after he has lost everything else. 

5.  What is the best of all things?
Virtue - because without it there is nothing good.

6.  What is the quickest of all things?
Thought - because in less than a minute, it can fly to the "ends" of the universe. 

7. What is the strongest of all things?
Necessity - which makes man face all the dangers of life. 

8.  What is the easiest of all things?  
To give advice.

BUT, when it came to the ninth question, our sage pronounced a paradox.
The question was:
9.  What is the most difficult of all things?
And the Malarian sage replied, 
"To know thyself".

Mark would want us to remember while we let ourselves and each other slip into that pit of deepest depression that Mark knows we will grieve, knows we need to grieve, and he too will long to show his love, to hold you again, to share life with you... 
We wait. 
We stand in seeming shadows of awe... of God's gifts ... The gifts of Mark in the lives we have shared and will share again - when our time comes to that glorious beginning.  

In His care, God holds Mark's beautiful spirit and in the place God prepared for him.  This will ease our sorrow.  As our mourning denies to cease  - we will let this knowing (that he is in God's care,) comfort us, and thereby can still happily share the love we all share with Mark. 

To the Bowen family I must first tell the lack of words I have to fully express condolences, tributes, and true feelings I have regarding Mark and Mark's sudden crossing-over.  There really are no words - are there.  

Still - I do want to say that Mark is a soul who runs deep in my heart too.  At the top amongst the gentlest souls I have known in all my life, Mark held my respect, for that virtue amongst the many virtues he lived by.  The way I see Mark - His love is a brilliant gift that never loses its lustre. His example toward his fellow-man never ceased to inspire me.  His love of nature spoke volumes. And his silent ways were meant for comfort... Which he believed everyone always deserved.   Mark is a giver, ...not a taker yet a heart feeling receiver. 
The passing of Mark is so very intense in our mourning, though it truly is good to remember that right now, Mark is absolutely fine.  Most certainly he longs to hold us in his care still, and knowing Mark, he will.  So we will do for him. We will pray that these glorious days in heaven are never weighted down by our longings for him, so that his beautiful face shines clear in the love we're actually sending.  
Of course I don't know why God needed Mark so soon, but I do know Mark's service to souls there will be thoroughly savoured for all the amazing intents that that Mark delivers so gently.  Mark has good works. He always has provided and given as such.  I have been proud to know him and am proud to pray with him for the comfort of his family. 

May the lord give you the strength to carry on, and the peace of mind to recognize the gift that is his Kingdom.

I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Mark's passing.You have my deepest sympathy.Mark was my co-worker for many years,but quickly became my friend as did Paul and Matt.Mark taught me much early in my career and I have never forgotten that. I'm grateful for having met Mark. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. Paul and Matt...friends always.
