Matthew is survived by his wife Lorie Cunningham, his parents, Gord and Marianne Galliford, his sister Diana Miles-Galliford, and his niece Leah Miles.
Matthew was passionate about being the Downtown Acton BIA Coordinator. He dedicated all his time and talent to the improvement and promotion of the community he loved so much.
He was committed to the service of the people of Acton and always did it with a smile and sense of humour. His larger than life personality and willingness to help with any task, big or small, made him an important part of his community.
Matthew’s other passion was his collection of movie costumes and props stemming from his ten years in the film industry in Toronto. (He also appeared in My Big Fat Greek Wedding if you look closely). He also enjoyed live music and theatre performances with his wife Lorie.
Matthew was dedicated to the welfare and protection of animals, always having a collection of cats and dogs at home.
A visitation will be held on Thursday November 6th from 1 – 4 PM and 7 – 8:30 PM at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. E Acton, ON. A Celebration of Matthew’s Life will take place at the Acton Town Hall on Friday November 21 from 4 - 8 PM.
As an expression of Sympathy, donations to the Upper Credit Humane Society and North Halton Kitten Rescue would be greatly appreciated by his family.
