Best friend and soulmate of husband, John. Dearest mother of David, Marlene (Larry), Janice (Reno), Ruth and Naomi.
Adored grandma of Stephen, Rowan (Erica), Rebecca, Rachel, Mark and Sarah. Great grandma of Jackson, and Autumn. Loving sister-in-law of Shirley Woods, Lorena Koike-Woods and Susan Tuckwood. Loving aunt of six nieces and great-aunt of 18 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beloved parents Sidney and Merna Woods, and by her brothers Larry and Ken Woods, nephew Stephen and brother-in-law Dave.
Family and friends were so important to her, as were the many people she met at Rock Chapel, Tapleytown, Fulton, Ker, Elcho and Churchill churches.
Vilma loved to travel with John, her family and her friends. She visited 26 countries, with her favourites being Italy, England, Poland, and Russia.
She was an amazing baker and many people have enjoyed her recipes. She loved music, especially, Daniel O’Donnell, the Booth Brothers and Gaither Gospel, as well as a lifelong love of playing piano. She loved knitting, sewing, photography and quilting, playing scrabble, as well as watching TV, especially Coronation Street, the Y&R, Price is Right, Family Feud, and 90-day Fiancé!!
She worked for various organizations as a secretary and in 4 hospices over 22 years as a Palliative Care Worker.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Churchill Community Church 14406 3 Line, Acton, ON L7J 2L8 on Thursday November 27, 2025 from 9.00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 am.
Thereafter, there will be a time of fellowship and refreshment followed by Interment at Grove Cemetery, Dundas.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Churchill Community Church, City Kidz, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
