William "Bill" Hughes

Beloved father of Dean (Tracy), Gail, and proud Papa of Halle and Jamie.

Bill is survived by his brother George (Elaine) Hughes, sisters-in-law Margaret Langley, Joan and Freida Hughes, Mary Ashton and brother-in-law Henry Logan.

Bill is predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie (1996), his parents Harry and Mary-Ellen Hughes, brothers; Harry, Eddie, Ernie, John, Frank, and Tommy Hughes, and sister Mary Logan. Sister-in-law Doreen Brierley and brother-in-law Bill Ashton.

He will be deeply missed by many lifelong friends and many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Bill was the most kind, caring, and generous soul who was always helping someone in some way. His devotion to his family was his top priority. He was truly one of a kind. The most loving and thoughtful dad and papa anyone could ever wish for. He will be sadly missed but we shall all cherish our memories we were privileged to have shared with such a great man!

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Georgetown Hospital CTC unit for their support, excellent care, and comfort during his stay.

As expressions of sympathy, donations for the new Georgetown hospice would be greatly appreciated.

Visitation will take place at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill St. East, Acton, ON, on Friday June 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at The Red Harp Pub 137 Mill St. E Acton from 3:00 to 5:30 pm.
