Audrey Irene Reed

She was born on December 7, 1938, in Idaho, Ohio to Johney and Florence Tackett and had three younger brothers.

Audrey was employed by the Sears and Roebuck Company Credit Department in Springfield, Ohio where she met the love of her life, Peter Raymond Reed. The two were married for 30 years prior to his passing on June 25, 1999. After their two sons were born, they moved to Fairlawn, Ohio.

She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Audrey will be remembered for her gift of evangelism, sharing God’s love and inviting family, friends, and strangers to trust in Jesus. She lovingly listened to people’s struggles and kindly volunteered her time and energy to teach children and help the elderly. As a loving mother to her two sons, grandmother to her six grandchildren, and great-grandmother to her one great-granddaughter, her greatest joy was serving her family.

Audrey’s legacy will forever live on through the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents Johney and Florence Tackett, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Cecil and Edna Reed, and by her beloved husband Peter Raymond Reed.

Audrey is survived by her sons Aaron Reed (Kelly) and Peter Rodney Reed (Sandra); her grandchildren Austin Reed (Haley), Megan Turing (Justin), Jenna Reed, Andrew Reed (Rachel), Lauren Reed, Matthew Reed; her great-granddaughter Amelia Reed; and her brothers Roger Tackett (Ruby), John Tackett (Sarah), and Rob Tackett (Tondalaya). Additionally, Audrey leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as many family members in Canada.

A visitation will be held on March 19th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W Market St, Akron. Calling hours will take place on March 20th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service.

The family invites attendees to a luncheon held in the catering room on site afterwards.
