Born on April 11, 1952 to Horace & Dorthy Dunn in Gallatin, TN. She was the 5th of 7 children and moved to Akron Ohio as a young child.
She attended Garfield High School Class of 1969 and a graduate of Akron University. After graduation she worked a position at Berks Title then went on to AllState Insurance where she retired after years of service.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, playing Bingo, going to the casinos, and going home to Tennessee to visit her extended family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Horace & Dorthy; husband Ray who she spent 37 years with; brother Larry Joe; sisters Fran Rader and Sue Cooke; grandson Jacob Stephen; granddaughter Dana Penrod; great-grandson Jordan Lee; and great-granddaughter Rosaline Mae; and one of her best friends Karen Byrd.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters Malinda (Carl) Williams, Jennifer (Jeff) Clements and Karen (Jack) Knight: grandchildren Susan, Christopher, Sondra (Jerry), Brandi, Adrienne (Shaun), Jonathon, Victoria (Tyler), Spencer, Cortney, and Joshua; great-grandchildren Aiden, Evan, Evie, Eden, Brianna, Ariana, Nevaeh, Natalie, JJ, Lincoln, Cassidy, Zoey, Gavin, Davyon, Chase, Derick, Cole, Sadie, Ellie, Lanie, and Brodie. GiGi held an extra special relationship with Nevaeh and Natalie; bonus daughters Lisa, Crystal, and Lori; her brother Rick (Jennie) Dunn, sisters Bonnie Tharp and Sandy Weiss; and her lifelong best friend Vicki Pillitiere; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the Rose Hill Funeral Home 3653 W Market St. Akron, OH 44333. With a visitation time on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 11:00 AM, Rev. Dwayne Ray, officiating.
