Cullen Nathanael Jarvis (February 5, 1998- August 22, 2024) had the privilege of meeting Jesus face to face while visiting one of his favorite places, Lake Michigan. He was a strong, courageous fighter who never gave up and never backed down. He stepped into glory with his family surrounding him, supporting him all the way to his final moments on this earth.
Cullen impacted so many on his earthly journey. Everyone who knew Cullen immediately associated him with the most kind, authentic smile that brought light and joy to everyone he met. Throughout middle school and high school, he served as a dedicated children’s leader. As a talented musician, he served on the praise team for many years as a phenomenal drummer, and upon reluctant request also on the bass guitar. He carried a servant’s heart with endless compassion for broken and hurting people. In college he served overseas on mission’s trips, as an AGORA Bible College student he, gave his time and energy serving both in Ohio and abroad. His dedication to God’s Kingdom was evident. He desired more than anything for people to have joy and be included in amazing adventures. Cullen loved Jesus and gave all his life to serve him.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother Lauri Jarvis, grandparents Ruth Ann Young, Chuck (Jan) Jarvis, sister Rachel (Matthew) Peterson, brothers Ryan (Monica) and Kyle (Jordan), and many nieces and nephews. Cullen was met at Heaven’s gates by his father Kent Jarvis, and his grandfather Robert Young.
In every high and low of his life, against every obstacle, he put up the fight of his life and never backed down. He was always filled with joy and compassion for everyone he met. His laugh lit up a whole room. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, and his absence leaves a void. We praise God for his life and the privilege to know and love him.
