

Dale was born in Akron, Ohio to his parents, Stephen and Bertha (Rozsa) Kreiner. He resided in the Akron area, but traveled the world as a scuba diver and instructor. Dale studied Biology and Chemistry at the University of Akron and served in the US Army Reserves from 1970 to 1976; rank of SP4. He was a radio mechanic and attained Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) and Expert (Rifle M16) status.
He started his diving business Deep Six Specialists, Inc. in 1970 at the age of 25. Deep Six was one of the first NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) Technical Facilities in the US.
Dale held many diving certifications and was qualified to teach all Basic and most Technical Diving courses, including NAUI diving from Basic through Instructor, Dry Suit, Nitrox, Deep Diver, Trimix, Technical Decompression, Helitrox and more. He spent 15 years as an Associate Professor teaching diving classes to students at the University of Akron; and still held all of his certifications at the time of his death.
He loved chicken noodle soup, scrambled eggs and strawberry milkshakes, and enjoyed baking things his mother used to make including pecan and blueberry pies and palacsinta (Hungarian pancakes).
Preceded in death by his parents, cousins, James G. Kreiner and Alan S. Fodor (Mary Ann), Dale is survived by his cousins, Bunny Fisher of Lone Tree, CO, John Szalay (Paula) of Akron, OH, Judy Startari (Jodi) of North Royalton, OH, his long time business manger and friend, Susan (Scuba Sue) Filakosky and many second and third cousins.
