Emily Menyes, age 88, of Uniontown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024. Her passing was marked by the knowledge of a life well-lived, surrounded always by the love of her family and friends.
Emily was born on April 10th, 1936, in Kosina, Belarus (formerly White Russia), the beloved daughter of the late Raphael and Rosalia Falkenstein. In 1955, she immigrated to the United States with her father and brother, settling in Akron, Ohio.
A devoted wife, mother, oma, and great oma, Emily found her greatest joy in her family. She shared 66 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, Michael Menyes, whom she married on October 26, 1957.
Emily was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Menyes; her parents, Raphael and Rosalia Falkenstein; her siblings, Rosa, Albert, John, Eugenie, and Emma; and her grandson, Michael Akers.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Kathy) Menyes, Kathy (Dave) DiBello, Richard (Sherri) Menyes, and Diane (Tim) Akers; her brother, Xander (Claire) Falkenstein; her six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at Fairlawn Lutheran Church, 3415 W Market St, Fairlawn, Ohio, 44333, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to Noon. Emily's life will be celebrated by Pastor Gau immediately following the calling hours at Noon.
She will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairlawn Lutheran Church in Emily's memory. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rose Hill Funeral Home, Fairlawn, Ohio.
