Pastor Eugene Meador, husband of Mary Louise Meador and son of Robert and Berdie Meador (deceased) passed away at his home surrounded by his wife of 68 years and his three children. He entered into his forever home with Jesus on September 26, 2022 at the age of 87.
Pastor Meador was born December 16, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri. His interests over the years included stamp collecting, photography, CB Radio’s, golfing, bowling, biking, chess, slot cars, hiking and computers.
He first served at Faith Tabernacle in Oklahoma City as minister to the deaf and youth. Pastor Meador had the opportunity to interpret for the deaf at a Billy Graham crusade in Oklahoma City. He then transitioned to Pastor of Fellowship Assembly of God in Oklahoma City. From 1966 - 1969, he served as District Christ Ambassador President (D-CAP) and District Royal Ranger Commander of Oklahoma. Through the leading and direction of the Lord, Pastor Meador and his family moved to Akron, Ohio where he became the Lead Pastor at Akron First Assembly of God for 31 years.
He had a passion for missions. He travelled to 36 countries teaching, preaching and laboring in the field. He was a strong leader who was sensitive to the Spirit. He was dedicated, tactful and articulate. He put much prayer and study into his sermons and was a skilled preacher. He was faithful, deeply committed to Christ and His work and to the body of believers. He was an honorable man of God and a man of integrity. He made a lasting impact on people over the years. His teaching on the book of Revelation became one of his most well-loved and memorable teachings.
Surviving him is his wife, Mary Louise Meador, one son, Alan Meador of Akron, Ohio; two daughters, Eugenia (Jeff) Schexneider of Elizabethtown, KY and Janine (Jim) Ballard of Irving, TX; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Jonathan Meador of Oklahoma City and Daniel Meador of Shawnee, OK; one sister, Christine Palmer of Guthrie, OK and other relatives and friends. Pastor Meador was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Akron First Assembly of God, 1175 W. Market Street, Akron, Ohio followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park immediately after the Service.

Market Street, Akron, OH or Lighthouse Assembly of God, 315 Graham Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH. If giving, please mark the gift ‘Meador Memorial’ so that it may be properly designated.
