Nick was born July 6, 1940 in Smithfield (Bowood), Pennsylvania to the late Nicola and Mary Katherine (Sabatine) Pozzuto.
Nick graduated from Masontown High School in Pennsylvania in 1958 and came to Ohio after graduation. He soon met the love of his life Carol in January 1962. They married in September 1963 and had 4 children. He worked in the plumbing and heating wholesale supply industry for over 50 years, developing many relationships that turned into lasting friendships. He retired in 2014 and enjoyed time with his family and friends.
Nick was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church for over 30 years where he sang in the Choir for over 25 years. Nick enjoyed making homemade wine with his brother Joe and then on his own with his children, golfing, playing pool in his basement, gardening including growing his Father’s tomato seeds, pontoon boating, visiting Colle Sannita, Italy where his Father was born, loved all animals, enjoyed staying busy often inventing creative ways and fixes to life’s challenges and was an avid guitar/bass player and vocalist playing in a band for many years. He had the kindest heart helping anyone in need and instilled life wisdom to his family with a listening ear, caring heart and open arms. He was the proud owner of his father’s 1930 Ford Model A, that he painstakingly restored to its original condition.
He courageously battled cancer with immense faith, strength and positivity for the past 5 years until succumbing to a myriad of illnesses that had no mercy, surrounded by his family. He shared a love with his wife that is indescribable. He emitted love wherever he went, treasured his grandchildren and loved his wife, family and friends with his whole heart. He is the light of his family, has the best smile, laugh and hugs that are forever etched in our hearts. He will be dearly missed.
Besides his parents, Nick is preceded in death by his sister Jane Vavreck.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Carol (Patrycy) Pozzuto, his children, Dominic (Mindy) Pozzuto, Angela (John) Jakuszewski, Nicol Pozzuto, and Susan (Ed Bell) Pozzuto; his six grandchildren, Lauren, Caleb, Sydney, Leah, Vincent, Joey, step-granddaughter Indigo, and great granddaughter Reagan; Nick also leaves his brother Joe (Adrienne) Pozzuto, his sister Florence Barone, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
