

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 23 years, including aboard the USS Saipan.
After retiring from the Marines, he went on to work at several car dealerships, including Burt Greenwald and Don Joseph.
He enjoyed several hobbies: golf, bowling, cards and membership in the PrimeTimers of Goodyear Heights. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed playing slot machines. He always had a joke or story to tell and loved going out to eat.
Preceded in death by his parents, Orr and Bess; his brother, Tom; and beloved wife, Vera (Shepard). He is survived by his sister, Margaret Powell, and three sons; Rick (Susan) of Florida, Bruce (Roberta), and Gary (Susan); grandchildren Alicia (Eric) Bernhardt, Erin, Lindsay (Jay) Polin, Dana, Jacob, Jared and Samantha; great-grandchildren Ethan and Elliot Bernhardt; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, siblings-in-law and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 6/27, 1pm at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where the family will receive friends Thursday,
11am until time of service. Private family inurnment to be held at a later date.
