Walter was born on September 16, 1935 in Hamilton, Ohio to Henry and Mary (Sams) Stewart. He entered the US Army at age 17 and served during the Korean War. When Walter returned from the Army, he married the love of his life, Jeannette. He lived in Akron, Ohio most of his life.
He worked for many years after as a painter, painting interiors and exteriors of homes. Also retired from McNeil.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sons, Jan and Mark Stewart.
Walter will be deeply missed by his daughter, Patricia Ard, and multiple nieces and nephew’s and grandkids. Along with his best friend Robert Brister.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park.
