William L. McKay Jr.

of Akron, passed away January 25, 2012. He was the beloved husband for 34 years of Linda, and loving father of David (Margy) and Tina Thompson. Bill also leaves behind his grandchildren; Ashley, Emily, Sarah, and Devin, his sister Constance Dadich, and special sister in-law Debbie (Gary) White. He will be missed by his dear friend Patty St. Clair and was “Uncle Doby” to many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William Sr. and Wynema, brother in-law George Dadich and dear friend Leon Frame.

Bill was a 1960 graduate of Coventry High School, a proud member of the Army Reserve for six years, and a member of Tallmadge Christian Fellowship. He also loved going to work at his nephew’s restaurant, “Delanie’s” in Tallmadge, where he was known as “Uncle Doby” to all.

Family will receive friends (today) Friday January 27, from 4-8pm at the Catavolos Funeral Home 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1pm Pastor John Knepper will be officiating. Entombment will be private at Rose Hill Burial Park.
