Alta Riddle

Alta Riddle passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2023 at the age of 83. She was born on September 14th, 1939 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Kelly and Gladys Haywood. Alta married Freddie Riddle on September 8th, 1953 and together they had seven children.

Alta’s life revolved around her family. She never missed a phone call or a chance to beat you in Phase 10. She loved watching game shows with Steve Harvey, shopping for stuff she didn’t need at Salvation Army and her little dog Toby. She was the best cook and never let you leave her house hungry. She enjoyed going to the casino, cutting out and saving newspaper clippings and watching her grandkids play baseball.

Alta is survived by her sister, Chris Hanks; her children, Debbie (Donnie) Hunt, Jim (Tina) Riddle, Kelvin (Ellen) Riddle, Diane (Stan) Meeks, Sandy (Mike) Pace and Scott Riddle; a son in law, Jr. Bowling; along with 21 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings: Arvil Haywood, Avelee Mullins, Mytrtle Pope, Irene Fitzpatrick; her husband, Freddie Riddle; her daughter, Sharon Bowling and her grandchildren, Kim Fisher, Kelley Frederick, Juan Riddle, Ashley Stephens, Timothy Riddle and Ashley Shimkus.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 20th from 11am to 1pm at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion, MI, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will be held at Albion Memory Gardens.
