Dale L. Britton age 94 of Albion passed away peacefully at Grand Vista of Marshall on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Dale was born July 21, 1923 in Amboy Township, Hillsdale County the son of Garford Britton and Esther Perkins. Dale married the love of his life Phyllis Emma (Geisen) Britton and she survives. Also surviving are son, Gary Britton of Jackson; son, Alan (Meleta) Britton of South Carolina; grandson, Jason Britton of Jackson; grandson, Nicholas (Indaka) Britton of Oregon; 4 great grandchildren; nephews, Richard and Ronald (Aracely) Britton of El Paso, TX; great nieces, Charlotte and Ashly Coleen Britton of El Paso, TX; nieces, Janean Rausch of Marshall; Brenda (James) Dane of Albion; Melissa (Wesley) Yates of Summerfield, FL; great nieces, Jessica (Tony) Stubbs of Grass Lake and Lisa Yates of Summerfield, FL; great great niece and nephew, Kiera Jade and Tony Lee II Stubbs of Grass Lake; sister-in-law, Pearl Britton.
Dale is preceded in death by his father, Garford Britton; mother and step father, Esther and Lynn Nolan; son, Larry Britton; grandson, Jody Britton; brother, Theodore J. Britton.
Dale was a loving husband and father who enjoyed his family. Dale enjoyed the outdoors, especially doing yardwork and going fishing. Woodworking and antiquing kept Dale busy during his spare time. Dale was a partner for a number of years at Albion Food Locker when it originally opened and retired from Kelsey-Hayes (TRW Automotive). Dale served his country in the 79th Division of the U.S. Army in WWII and participated in the second wave of the invasion of France.
Per Dale’s wishes, cremation will take place with no visitation or services. Burial will be at a later date at Albion Memory Garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Albion Community Foundation, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Great Lakes Hospice.
