Donald F Hasenick

Donald Frank Hasenick, 86, of Springport passed away on August 1, 2017 at his home with his wife of 61 years at his side. He was born January 28, 1931 in Albion, Michigan to the late Gerald and Marie (Tuchtenhagen) Hasenick.

He graduated from Springport High School and Agricultural Short Courses at MSU. As a partner of Hasenick Brothers Farms with his late brother Dean, he took great pride in the crops and his ability to keep the machinery in good working order.

On October 1, 1955, he married Clara A. Nelson of Lansing. To that union were born three sons: Dale (Jo) of Marcellus; Dennis (Cindy) of Albion and Stephen of Marshall. Also surviving are grandchildren Marc (Alyssa) of Springport; Drew (Megan) of Albion; Sam (Melinda) of Marshall and Riana of Marcellus. Last year he welcomed great-grandsons Anson and Carson. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Bill) Gibbs of Mason; sister-in-law, Judy Hasenick of Springport; one niece and three nephews.

He was a member of Springport United Methodist church where he served as treasurer and trustee.

A Celebration of Donald’s life will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at 11:00AM at Springport United Methodist Church with Rev. Melissa Claxton officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
