

Frances Teresa Blight (Gigowski) was born October 3, 1932 in Matteson Township, Branch County the daughter of Benjamin and Nellie Gigowski. She passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in her home under the loving care of her family and Oaklawn Hospice.
Frances attended Lindley School to the eighth grade and quit to become a nanny for a couple that lived down the road from them, after becoming frustrated with a bookkeeping class. She married William Blight on February 14, 1953, and became the farm bookkeeper. She was involved with the community homemakers group, St. John Altar Rosary Society and sang in the choir for many years.
Bill preceded Frances in death on March 6, 2019 after 66 years of marriage. Frances was also preceded in death by her parents, a great-grandson, Kaleb Weitzel and both her sisters, Josephine Tucker and Pearl Magner.
Frances and Bill had four children who are left behind to carry on their memory and legacy: Deborah (Phil) Weitzel, Arthur (LeAnne) Blight, Kenneth (Sue) Blight, and Kelly Jo Blight, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 29th from 5-8PM with a 7:30PM Rosary service at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church 1020 Irwin Ave., Albion with visitation at 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM with Father Richard Altine officiating. She will be laid to rest in East Eckford Cemetery following.
