Gail Marvin Landon, age 90, of Parma Twp., passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Arbor Manor under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. He was born April 12, 1928 in Parma Twp. The son of Harry and Ila (Robinson) Landon and they precede him in death along with daughter, Sue Brown, sister, Dorothy Hodge and brother, June Landon. Gail married Margaret Norton on September 2, 1950 at Parma Methodist Church and she survives.
Gail was employed as a Locomotive Engineer retiring after 43 years from Conrail and Amtrak. He was a man of many talents, handy at fixing most anything. He had a great sense of humor, loved gardening, playing cards, playing sports and watching sports, especially the Tigers and U of M. Gail was a Life Member of the Parma Masonic Lodge as well as the Albion Elks Lodge #1798 and the Parma Outdoor Club.
Gail and his family loved visiting Au Train Lake, so much so that they built a home there in 1972. The family has many fond memories of the times they spent there together.
In addition to his loving wife Margaret of 68 years, Gail also leaves to cherish his memory 3 daughters: LuAnn (William) Duncan of Albion, Julia Landon of Springport, Jill (Jake) Hiler of Jackson; five grandchildren: Rachael Duncan, Zachary Duncan, Brenden Hunter, Landon Hiler and Kenzie Hiler.
According to his wishes, Gail has been cremated and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will take
place at a later date.
