John Allen Gonzales

John Allen “Teeters” Gonzales passed away at the Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, Michigan on June 3, 2017. John was born on May 23, 1952 to Guadalupe and Petra Gonzalez Sr in Albion, Michigan. John moved to Michigan City, IN and lived there for 40 years. He worked for Weil-McClain for 35 years before retiring.

He enjoyed baseball, bowling, playing pool, watching sports and being with his family. John was known to most as “Teeters” a nickname given to him his family.

Mr. Gonzales is survived by his children; Karri Wille of Anthem, Az., Kelly (Dennis) Kolasa II of Michigan City , IN., Josh (Lisa) Gonzales of San Diego, Ca., Sarah (Eric) Sommer of Westville, IN. and Ashley (Josh) Pool of Porter, IN. Grandchildren; Seth Gonzales, Chase Wille, Haylee Sommer, Mason Kolasa, Stella Pool, Kenna Gonzales, Tyler Sommer and Lucas Pool. Great-Grandchild; Zepriana Wille. Seven Brothers; Guadalupe (Barb) Gonzalez of Springport, MI, Pete (Maria) Gonzalez of Augusta, Ga., Joe (Laura) Gonzales of Lansing, MI., Antonio Gonzales of Lansing, MI, Jesse (Juana) Gonzales of Lansing, MI., Vidal Gonzalez of Lansing, MI., and Tomas (Margorie) Gonzalez of Battle Creek, MI. Sisters; Irene Wawra of Vienna Austria, Europe.

and Maria Hopkins (Doug) of Albion. He leaves behind two step-daughters and one step-son, one step-brother-in law and many step-grandchildren. John will hold a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews who will miss their Uncle Johnny.

Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his father, Guadalupe Gonzalez Sr, mother, Petra Gonzalez, his wife, Linda Gonzales and his granddaughter, Makayla Wille.

A funeral service for Mr. Gonzales will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI. 49224 with family hour at 11:00 AM. Pastor Al Henson will be officiating. According to Mr. Gonzales’s wishes cremation will follow.
